This is a repeating short video without sound: a gif. I’ve decided that it is a lesson to us all. Close interspecies friendships take many forms. Companion animals don’t have to be cats and dogs. This cow has a relationship with the woman which is every bit as good as any other relationship and better than most. It is such a gentle friendship. And the under-chin rub reminds me of the sort of petting that you’d deliver to your cat. This sort of relationship is impractical for most but the possibility is there. That’s the point. I don’t know a thing about the video except for what is obvious in the gif. I’d like all of humanity to be this friendly and gentle with all of wildlife. How about that impossible dream? What a world it would be.
