This is the story of another rich dentist who likes to shoot animals for fun and allegedly his wife for his lover. Do you remember the Minnesota dentist, Walter Palmer who killed Cecil the lion? He became notorious. This man, is following in his footsteps. His name is Larry Rudolph, aged 67. He has a $15 million dental franchise. He was on a hunting trip in Zambia with his wife Bianca Rudolph. He’s been accused of shooting dead his wife on the hunting trip with a 12-gauge Browning shotgun.
He allegedly confessed to the killing in a rant at his girlfriend Lori Milliron, in a steakhouse over dinner in 2020, four years after the alleged murder of his wife. He is alleged to have said: “I killed my f***ing wife for you!”
He is on trial for the murder of his former wife and his defence lawyer says that the witness who overheard the rant was mistaken and that he actually said: “They’re saying I killed my f***ing wife for you”, I guess in reference to law enforcement.
His defence lawyer, David Markus said in court that his client had an open marriage, meaning that his wife accepted infidelity. This is relevant because it is claimed by the prosecution that Larry Rudolph planned the murder after Milliron gave him an ultimatum to divorce his wife. The prosecution said that “He killed his wife for her” as he pointed across the courtroom at Milliron.
Jurors were shown a photograph of the Safari cabinet in which the incident occurred. There was blood on the floor and Mrs Rudolph’s body was draped with a blanket. The shotgun was by her side.
Rudolph denies the murder and claims that he was in the bathroom of the Safari hut when his wife accidentally shot herself in the heart while packing the shotguns away on the last day of the holiday.
If convicted he could face the death penalty or life imprisonment.
He said: “I did not kill my wife. I could not murder my wife. I would not murder my wife.”
He was married for 34 years and the killing took place on the last day of their hunting safari in Kafue National Park. He collected $5 million in insurance money and then moved in with Lori Milliron according to the prosecution. The trial is taking place in Denver, USA.
Comment: It looks like another example of karma to me. There are other examples of karma befalling trophy hunters which I personally love. Bring on karma against trophy hunters who I detest.
