A New Hampshire woman has been accused of pushing her 11-year-old dog, a golden retriever, into a lake and watching it drown. Her alleged crime was witnessed. Police were dispatched on June 8, 2018 to Wasserman park in the evening to work with the fire department to, I presume, recover the drowned dog in Naticook Lake.
Witnesses told the police that Nancy Bucciarelli, 66, pushed her dog into the lake. The dog struggled and eventually drowned.
Witnesses said that they had tried to save the dog from drowning but it was too late. The dog drowned in under 4 feet of water with a temperature of 74°F.
The woman has been charged with cruelty to animals which is a misdemeanour, a minor offence in New Hampshire.
She is on bail to reappear at the Merrimack circuit court on June 27.
