This is a beautiful Australian Shepherd dog. They’re actually all beautiful. This is a very popular dog breed ranking 17 out of 196 breeds according to the American Kennel Club. I can see why. The photograph on this page is from a Twitter posting so I’m guessing that we’re not necessarily looking at a particularly wonderful example of the breed but, what a dog nonetheless! Simply superb. This breed of dog weighs in the range 50-65 pounds for males and 40-55 pounds for females. The life expectancy is 12 to 15 years. They are described by the American Kennel Club as a “tough ranch dog”. They are a European breed perfected in California by way of Australia and associated closely with cowboy life. Well, they are tough and pretty at the same time. Quite an achievemet.
