Owners of American XL bully dogs feed them steroids to make them aggressive

This is the latest disturbing update in the American XL bully story which as you might know are going to be banned in the UK soon as they can according to the country’s Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak. He doesn’t think that families should be in danger of this aggressive breed but the problem is it is not a registered dog breed and therefore to identify the dog the authorities will have to use a description.

If the American XL bully was registered with a dog association the authorities would have been able to cross check if the aggressive dog that attacked somebody was registered and therefore a purebred American XL bully but they can’t do that.

It’s going to be difficult to identify whether an alleged American XL bully is actually that type of dog because they also crossbreed them and create hybrids. As I said in an earlier post it is hellishly complicated.

Update: this dog is trained, fed and provoked into being dangerous.

Single foundation dog

It is also said that a high percentage of dogs on this type have descended from a single, very large, American XL bully named Killer Kimbo. The breeder who owned Killer Kimbo, Gustavo Castro, said that his dog is a gentle giant but also that up to 600 dogs have descended from this single animal.

Steroids

And the man revealed that a lot of American XL bully owners feed their dogs steroids to make them more aggressive and I guess stronger. Steroids are known to increase irritability, anxiety and aggression and cause mood swings, manic symptoms and paranoia, particularly when taken in high doses. And I’ve just read that American XL bully semen is being shipped over from America to the UK in order to breed a particularly enormous and muscular animal to which, as mentioned, they probably feed steroids to make them even more nasty.

Human problem

As has always been stated, this is a human problem rather than the dog problem. Yes, the UK government is going to ban this type of dog but the whole story is centred around humans; their breeding of the dog and in their ownership of this dog type. The breeders realise that some people, probably insecure people, want a status symbol of a dog who’s aggressive to send out a signal to others. It’s a form of vicariously acquired self-esteem.

The owners are creating self-esteem for themselves in ownership of a feared animal. Very peculiar and very silly and disturbing. A campaign group found that 32/50 breeding dogs in Britain were related to killer Kimbo. But as mentioned the breeder says that this individual dog is well behaved albeit very large.

I sense that this steroid story is a big one. I sense that they are feeding them steroids to put the icing on the cake so to speak but it is not only very unsociable or antisocial to do that but also very unhealthy for the animal.

It is unethical and illegal to give any animal, including American XL Bully dogs, steroids or any other substances to make them aggressive. Steroids are harmful to animals and can have serious health consequences, including damage to internal organs, joint problems, and behavioral issues.

Promoting aggression in dogs or any animal is not responsible pet ownership and can result in dangerous and harmful situations. Responsible pet owners focus on training, socialization, and positive reinforcement to ensure their dogs are well-behaved and friendly. If you have concerns about your dog’s behavior, it’s essential to consult a professional veterinarian or animal behaviorist for guidance and appropriate training methods.
