I am assuming that the sign behind Ajax is there to inform any passerby, either on foot or in a car. not to be concerned about this elderly dog and therefore not to rescue him. I can see no other reason for the sign. The dog is 14-years-of-age and it looks as though he has lost the use of his legs and therefore the owners leave him outside like this where he likes to watch what is going on around him. Perhaps in the past they did it and somebody became concerned and tried to rescue Ajax which obviously created a problem because he doesn’t need rescuing. It’s a nice idea because Ajax can get some mental stimulation in the autumn of his life. Fourteen years is a good age and I would expect him not to live much older.
