NEWS AND COMMENT: In the soap opera trial of Johnny Depp versus Amber Heard, Amber Heard’s sister Whitney Henriquez took the stand in Fairfax Virginia on Wednesday and testified about a ‘shocking’ allegation which took place on March 21, 2013. Is it shocking?
She said that she was sitting in the front of a car with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard in the rear. She said that at some point she heard the back window open and Johnny holding “our dog out the window and I froze”.
She said that she was scared because “I knew how inebriated he was and the dog was very small and I thought if she twitched or if he lost her somehow, she was just going to go out of the window”.
Ms Henriquez said that Mr Depp pulled the dog back into the car but laughed after the incident. She said: “He was laughing – just this really scary, loud cackle,”.
He then made a joke about putting the dog into a microwave. It happened at a time when Mr Depp was allegedly inebriated and had accused Ms Heard of being unfaithful. He believed that she was having an affair with a friend that she had been photographed with. Also, he apparently believed that Ms Heard had rekindled a relationship with an ex because of a painting hanging on a wall.
She also testified that when she had arrived at a property in Orange where the couple were staying, she found the place “filled with smoke” and Mr Depp “slurring”. He was upset with Ms Heard.
She said that it was hard to know what he was saying. Mr Depp allegedly told her that he was upset that Amber Heard had been photographed with their friend Marie in France and that he believed it “must have meant she was having an affair with her”.
Ms Henriquez spent about 4-5 hours trying to get Johnny Depp to leave the house because he was late for filming a documentary with Keith Richards. She testified that they managed to get him to leave eventually but he wanted Ms Heard to come with him.
The dog incident allegedly happened on their way to the filming. Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife in defamation for a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post where she described herself as being “a public figure representing domestic abuse”.
Amber Heard’s sister also said, according to a The Times report today, that Johnny Depp, 58, hit her during a row in March 2015 over his alleged cheating with a woman named Rochelle. The sister was living rent free at Depp’s penthouse in Los Angeles. She said that Amber Heard allegedly told her that Depp was cheating on her after finding texts from another woman. And according to the sister Depp said that Amber Heard pushed him into doing it. She alleges that he chased her and her sister up the stairs before hitting her. She also alleged that her sister struck Depp in response and said “don’t hit my f***ing sister”.
