Nicola Palmer and the dogs

Nicola Palmer adopted rescue dogs from a British rescue organisation that had been imported from Romania. She was in breach of the adoption contract in breeding from the dogs. A private prosecution was taken out against her for unlicensed breeding and theft. She pleaded guilty to unlicensed breeding and was sentenced to a conditional discharge at a magistrates court. It’s the first private prosecution for unlicensed breeding in the country it is believed. Her behaviour is a symptom of coronavirus lockdowns as she was trying to supply the surging market in dog adoptions often impulse adoptions leading to failure.
