Prince Harry believes that we are reincarnated as animals after we die

Prince Harry revealed on The Late Show with Steven Colbert that he believes that people are reincarnated as animals when they die. This may have been a light-hearted response but it appears that he believes it. He said that he’d prefer to return as an elephant but dislikes snakes. He also dislikes sharks but is happy that “they are contained to the ocean. Snakes can get anywhere”.

Perhaps a more important topic of conversation concerning Prince Harry and Meghan at present is that they don’t really have anything to say other than to criticise the Royal Family. All he can do is talk about his personal experiences with the Royal family as he sees it. The same goes for his wife. This is their commercial ‘asset’ and it has already been squeezed out as much as possible. There is nothing left in the tank.

That’s why, Spotify and Netflix have terminated their partnerships with Harry and Meghan. Harry and Meghan really have nothing more to say. And it shouldn’t be expected either. She’s an actress and he is a reasonably young Royal with, frankly, limited life experience. What does he know about things in general in order to comment about them?

I’m referring to the kind of show that he would make which is to narrate or present information about some topic. You have to have good knowledge to do that. And you have to have presentational skills which he doesn’t have. And Meghan also has limited abilities to genuinely entertain people as a presenter or as a host on a podcast published on Spotify.

I think it was foolhardy of them to believe that they could earn a lot of money in the medium-to-longterm from television shows and podcasting. When you boil it down, they are just Mr and Mrs Joe Blogs. Nothing special. The only thing that is special about them is that he was a high-ranking royal with mental health problems because his mother was killed in that infamous car crash.

I am sympathetic towards him for suffering that terrible experience as a child but you can go so far talking about it and telling the world how you are mentally damaged before the world tires of it.

Reincarnation

Returning to reincarnation. As you probably know it is a religious/philosophical belief that the soul or spirit lives on after biological death i.e. physical death and life begins in a new body. It may be a human, animal or spirit depending on the quality and standard of the previous life. This cycle of death and rebirth is referred to as Samsara in Hinduism. And the end result of the cycle i.e. the life you have after rebirth is governed by karma.

Karma dictates that if you had a good life, you will have a good life after rebirth and the opposite holds true. Actually, karma also works during your life because often bad actions have negative consequences on the person making the bad actions. A typical example would be a sport hunter out to kill an elephant and the elephant charges the hunter having been shot and kills them whereupon the elephant itself dies. That’s how karma works.

It could be said that Covid-19 is a form of karma. If it was started in a wet market in Wuhan, China it was started with the abuse of wild animals by the Chinese in these markets. Nature objected and spread the Covid virus amongst humans as punishment. Covid killed 7 million people. That’s a lot less than the number of wild animals that the Chinese kill in wet markets for superstitious reasons that their flesh may benefit their health. But it is a starting point.

The oldest book in Hinduism makes numerous references to rebirth. And the Bhagavad Gita (a 700-verse Hindu scripture) states: “Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be. As the embodied soul continuously passes, in this body, from childhood to youth to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death.”

Harry is not alone in believing in reincarnation. There are more than 1.2 billion Hindus on the planet. This is 15-16% of the world’s population!
