Martin Luther King and police dog

The police dog was put into the back of a police car to try and intimidate Martin Luther King Jr. It happened in 1964 in St Augustine. Florida. The dog made friends with Martin Luther King Jr. a public relations coup for the civil rights movement and a slap in the face of the police.

Martin Luther King Jr.’s civil rights movement benefited animal welfare and animal rights. You can equate the two: the abuse and slavery of people and the abuse and slavery of animals today and in times past.
