A couple of New Zealand scientists ha vedecided that dogs have a worse carbon footprint than an SUV and cats have a carbon footprint which is equivalent to that of a Volkswagen Golf.
One guest on a British television show suggested that dogs and cats should be banned in the interests of protecting the planet.
I get his point but if we are to tackle climate change and environmental damage to the planet, we need to prioritise our efforts and if we do that we should start at humans because the carbon footprint of humans is far greater than either of the above two mentioned producers.
