Two horses from Cleveland Police’s mounted unit escaped during routine exercise and brought traffic to a standstill on Interstate 90 before being safely recovered.
The horses escaped from their stalls and ended up on Interstate 90 weaving in and out of oncoming dense traffic which appears to have come to a standstill to protect the horses.
Officers ushered the horses to the side of the road.
The report is that officers from the mounted division ‘promptly’ managed to guide their horses back to the stables which are near the road.
‘Mounted officers promptly recovered both horses, ensuring their safety, and no further incidents ensued,’ the official said.
