Scientific Reports have published a study which tells us that spiny lobsters ward off predators by emitting a screech so loud that the sound can travel nearly two miles underwater. The sound is produced using a technique similar to using a violin.
Twenty-four spiny lobsters were tracked in the Bay of Saint Anne du Portzic in Brittany. Now who’d have believed that lobsters can make a sound that travels almost 2 miles under water? Respect lobsters! Respect all animals. They are smarter than you think.
