It emerged from a canal and was looking for food. What else? The store is a 7-Eleven. Location: Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. The police were called. They dragged it out of the store and put it back in the undergrowth. It is believed that a draught had resulted in depleted prey animals forcing the lizard to find food elsewhere.

They avoid humans unless provoked when they might attack. The name ‘monitor’ may come from the habit of individuals of this family of lizards to stand on their hind legs as if monitoring the surroundings.
